David Hardingham supports dolphins in cages
There is a new Rupert Murdoch in town. His name is David Hardingham. At the moment he owns only one newspaper. That is Minivan News. Since Minivan News is the main source of news in English language for foreigners and Maldivians its power to influence people should not be underestimated. Minivan News has hit an all-time low recently.
Eleanor Johnstone’s article on Amir Mansoor’s pet project (no pun intended) of caging dolphins in a Maldives lagoon reads just like a press release issued by Mansoor.
Maldivians have also jeered at Minivan News’ vain attempts to save the reputation of its former Marketing Manager Simon Hawkings who is responsible for a stupid logo and slogan unveiled for Maldives.
David Hardingham is a friend of Maldives President Nasheed and Honorary Consul of the Maldives in Salisbury (UK). His online newspaper Minivan News is given the task of polishing the image of Nasheed’s government and concealing the unpopularity of Nasheed.
